The University of Arizona College of Education’s Digital Innovation and Learning Lab (DIALL) program will serve to develop research on teaching and learning interactions, instructional design, and learning outcomes to support education in the modern era.  The renovation of the program’s existing space will help facilitate engagement with digital making activities, with a lens toward examining collaboration and the production of digital media.  Programming includes such activities as digital storytelling, exploring gaming interfaces, learning coding skills, online research, podcasting, video and sound production, stop-motion animation, and virtual and augmented reality.

The overall layout is an open-design with high visibility between spaces to promote collaboration and allow students to freely experience all the lab has to offer.  The space operates as a flexible laboratory for collaboration on digital and physical media making, providing large and small meeting rooms, a maker space, a video/green screen studio and a recording studio.  Keeping with the cutting edge programming, the design integrates innovative use of everyday materials to provide interesting architectural elements that are meant to inspire experimentation.
